Sensing and Signaling: University of Tennessee

DescriptionThe aim of this program is to provide research experiences for undergraduate students majoring in the sciences with an introduction  to cutting edge research in the broad area of “Sensing and Signaling”. The team of REU investigators represents a multidisciplinary ensemble of Cell Biologists, Geneticists, Biochemists, and Biophysicists who are taking modern approaches to the analysis of how signals are perceived and transduced in myriad biological systems.

CDC opportunity: genetics

Description: We seeking a student who is interested in investigating genetic variants of human cytochromes P450, including homology modeling.


The student will be stationed either in a lab in proximity to Little Rock, AR (housing will be taken care) and/or on the CDC campus in Chamblee/Atlanta, GA. However, at least a fraction of the appointment the student must be in AR. During that period student’s personal transportation is highly recommended.

National Fragile X Foundation Summer Student Fellowships

Each spring, the National Fragile X Foundation funds a number of William & Enid Rosen Summer Student Fellowships of $2,500 each. These grants are designed to encourage interest in Fragile X research while adding to the Fragile X body of knowledge. Both undergraduate and graduate students are eligible.
