Biology Division Announces 2009-2010 Biology Travel Awards:
The Biology Division of the CUR is offering a limited number of travel grants for undergraduate students presenting original research results at a regional or national, discipline-specific meeting during the period of September 2009 – August, 2010. The grants will total up to $250 each. Award recipients are required to acknowledge CUR for support of their travel in their talk or poster. Minority students are encouraged to apply.

Frank and Sara McKnight Undergraduate Prizes in Molecular Sciences:
This competition will enable finalists to travel to UT Southwestern to present their research and is open to undergraduates in their senior year who have conducted outstanding research in chemistry, biological chemistry, biophysics or quantitative biology.
How to apply:
By October 1, send an application by email to mcknightprize@utsouthwestern.edu. Include on the subject line Chemistry Prize, Biological Chemistry Prize or Biophysics or Quantitative Biology Prize. The application should include the following:
- A brief (generally 250-750 words) abstract describing an undergraduate research project.
- A letter of recommendation from your research advisor (may be sent separately).
- Self-reported grades and GRE’s (if available).
- A mailing address.

FASEB Poster/Oral Presentation Travel Award
The award provides for one minority undergraduate or graduate student or postdoctoral fellow who has been selected to give an oral or poster presentation at one of the national meetings of the constituent societies of the federation. Abstracts submitted and accepted as a posters or oral presentations will be used as the basis for the awards.
